Ronald Harrison Hall, Sr., 82, of Seneca SC, and Glassboro, NJ, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 6, 2018. He was born August 20, 1936, in New Jersey, the son of Benjamin H. and Dorothy (Lily) Hall.

After graduating from high school, Ron served his country by joining the US Navy, serving in a diesel submarine as an electrician. After being honorably discharged from his service Ron furthered his electrical career in the areas of high voltage power lines and in the fields of commercial and industrial electrical contracting as Apollo Electric. He held a Master Electrician's license in three states.

Around 1967 Ron began the study of Shotokan Karate. In 1970 he built his own karate school on his property in Glassboro, New Jersey. October 6, 1973 is the day Ron became one of the first Americans to ever be awarded a Black Belt by the Japan Karate Association, and was invited to train in Japan.

Ron loved saltwater fishing and would go on yearly fishing trips with his friends, Ray and Ed. He also enjoyed raising animals, large and small. His last adventure was raising Boer goats on his five-acre farm. Ron was very proud to be the owner of a 2001 Harley Davidson Heritage motorcycle, and to have the opportunity to ride with his son Ron, Jr. in the Daytona Beach Rally.

Ron is survived by brother, Harrison Hall and sister, Karen Hurff; three children, Ron, Jr., Carl, and Heather. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Teresa; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by daughter, Cheri; and step-son, David.

Services for Ron will be announced at a later date.
