Piedmont, South Carolina | Age 47

Philip Aaron Porter, 47, husband of Tiffany Chastain Porter, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 following a battle with esophageal cancer.

Born in Easley, he was the son of Robert Sherman Porter and Mary McWhorter Porter of Pickens. Proudly serving our country in the United States Army, he was a member of the Army Rangers and deployed to Mogadishu, Somalia in support of Operation Gothic Serpent.

Philip owned and operated Elijah Gray Farms, a tree nursery that he was passionate about. He enjoyed restoring classic cars with his sons and spending outdoor time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 22 years and his parents, are his loving sons, Elijah Thomas Porter and John Grayson Porter, both of the home; a brother Robert Anthony Porter and his wife Christy, and two nieces Mary Alice Porter and Bailey Porter, all of Easley.

Philip was a member of American Legion Post 11 in Pickens and attended Pathway Church in Piedmont, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
