Charlotte June Trombla Roberts, 91, widow of Carleton Whitman Roberts and former resident of Clemson, SC, died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Manitowoc, WI, she was a daughter of the late Elsa Rose Schreiber Trombla and William Gilbert Trombla, Sr. She graduated from Lincoln High School; worked in Washington, DC during and after WWII; then graduated with a BA in Music from University of Wisconsin. She married while in Indiana, then lived in Midland, MI before moving to Clemson, SC. While in Clemson, she was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she held many positions but was most noted for her interest in and preservation efforts of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Churchyard. She also served on several committees of the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina and was active with various organizations supporting Daniel High School. When she moved to Greer, she became a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and was a regular reader there for several years. She also volunteered teaching piano lessons.

Surviving are three daughters: Margaret Elizabeth Roberts of Greer, SC, Charlotte Justine "Tina" (Britt) Kennedy of Webster Groves, MO, and Eliza Carleton (Ned) Ready of Huntsville, AL; a sister, Beverly Trombla of Appleton, WI; grandchildren: Charlotte Elizabeth and William Blake Kennedy and Edgar Lowndes Ready V; sister-in-law Nancy Trombla; nieces and nephews: Leigh (Michael) Jordan, David Trombla, Robin Briller, Danette Trombla, Malcolm (Mary) Roberts, and Nancy Roberts (Michael) Godfrey,; many great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Special thanks to Kaye Hickman, Branett Lafayette, and The Rev. Michael Schnatterly who stood by her side and gave immeasurable care and support.

In addition to her husband, mother and father, Charlotte was predeceased by her brother, William Gilbert Trombla, Jr and her sister, Mary Parker.

The family will greet friends Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9:30-10:45 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the churchyard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pendleton, SC and The Church of the Good Shepherd in Greer, SC.
