Tribute & Message From The Family

Louise M. DuBose, 107, of Clemson passed away peacefully Monday, June 7, 2021. She was born December 19, 1913, in Westminster, the daughter of T.S. and Lillian Simpson Miller. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clemson.

For many years Louise worked with her husband, Charles, in their store selling various sundries. She later worked at the Clemson University Bookstore. Louise enjoyed playing rummy and bridge with her cousins and friends. She loved all sports, but especially Clemson football, baseball, softball, and golf. More than a anything she loved her family. She devoted all her time to her husband and family. Louise was God's gift to those who knew her and especially to her daughter and son.

Louise is survived by her son, Charles "Rick" DuBose (Sarah) of Westminster; daughter, Lynn Usry of Clemson. "Mama Bose" is also survived by grandchildren, Greg (Mary Beth) and Matt Usry, and Richard (Dala) DuBose; great grandchildren, Zarin Usry, Connor and Quinn Usry, Ben, Sarah Beth, Elouise Usry, and Charles and Eric DuBose; great great grandchildren, Haven and Max Gray; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death and welcomed to heaven by her husband, Charles; son-in-law, George Usry; grandson Alan Usry; great grandchild, Jack Usry; brother, Henry Miller; and sister, Kathryn Miller.

At Louise's request there will be a private graveside service for the family.

Her family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Lila Doyle for their tender and compassionate care of Louise.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to First Baptist Church of Clemson, 397 College Ave, Clemson, SC 2963.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Ricky DuBose was in the boy scout troop of which I was scoutmaster when I lived in Clemson. He and his friend, Richard McAdams, were two of my favorites. I got to know his parents and remember visiting and sitting around their kitchen table made from an old chopping block. These were happy times. I last saw Mrs. DuBose several years ago and she remembered things that happened when I was in Clemson that I had long forgotten. May the family be thankful for her long life and while they miss her always remember her good influence on all her children and her many grands. It was a joy to have known her.

Lynn and family, Want to express my sympathy on the passing of your mother. I remember your family having their business in downtown Clemson and our long ago friendship in school. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
