Tribute & Message From The Family

Jean Kelly Holladay, 83 of Central passed away peacefully Monday, April 12, 2021. She was born in Pickens County February 24, 1938, the daughter of Harvey and Bernice Roper Kelly.

Jean lived in the area her entire life. She worked in the Clemson University ticket office for over 30 years. She also spent 18 years working at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, welcoming guests as they attended visiting hours, and later in the after-care program there. Both jobs were so rewarding. Jean enjoyed all the Clemson games, both home and away; she loved taking the family camping, especially to The Beach. Church was always very important to Jean. She was a youth leader for many years, and she enjoyed singing in the choir.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by her son, Robbie Holladay and her sister, Eleanor Gibson. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Kale; and a son, Randy Holladay; two grandsons, Weston and Cordie Kale.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 17th at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd., Central. Scroll to the video player below to view the service. Entombment will follow the service at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM prior to the service.

The family would like to especially thank Jean's caregivers, Irene and Brenda for the love and care they showed to her.

Bob worked with Jean at the ticket office for many years. She was such a sweet, sweet lady. After we graduated, were married, and moved away from Clemson, we always made a point to come by to speak to Jean at the ticket office when we were in town. The service today was a beautiful tribute to her. So glad we could be there.

Randy, Rhonda & family,
I am so very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I considered it a privileged to work with her for several years and by extension, meet y'all. She walked the walk. There is absolutely no doubt where she is celebrating today. Her loss has left a huge void that makes this world feel darker, but hopefully the love and well wishes from those around you will help lift you up. I send you my warmest thoughts and prayers.

Ms. Jean touched my life and always blessed me from the first time that I met her at Cannon Memorial B.C. up until the last time that I saw her at a Clemson football game. I so look forward to seeing her in Heaven some glad morning when this life is o'er.
