Condolence & Memory Journal
To the family... Chad, Neil, and Seth,
Fred and I send our sincere condolences. Jan was a great ER Nurse, mentor, and friend. She spoke highly of her family. She always had an answer to our many questions. I will never forget her, as she was like a work mother to many of us. She loved conversations about gardening. One of her favorite flowers were pansies. She purchased my first set of gardening tools, along with a gardening book when my husband and I married. Jan will be missed dearly......❤

Chad and Seth,
Jan meant so much to me during my time at Columbia. She talked so much about Seth and how much fun she had with him. I left the ER in 1998. I remember he wisdom, humor and dedication to everyone around her. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Growing up, Jan was often the bane of my existence. The little sister that started all the mischief and rarely got in trouble. As we grew older, she became my best friend and confidant. When I enter the next world, I will listen for the laughter. There I will find Jan, surrounded by people and telling one of her ridiculous stories. I miss her laugh more than anything.

Chad, Seth and Neil, I send warm, healing thoughts and prayers for the loss of Jan on this worldly Earth and the gap that will remain without her presence here. She was always fun to spend time with at extended family events. I remember first meeting her after Greg and I got engaged. She was warm, full, real and fun. In the absence of a future mother-in-law, I often followed her and Edie's guidance at family events. I am glad to have had time with her and will miss laughing and talking with her and treasure the memories.

Chad, we are so sorry to know that Jan is gone, but happy that she is now in a better place. In the few years that we knew her, we appreciated Jan as a delightful, funny, warm, good Wisconsin girl, so friendly, caring and social. She brightened the life of all those who knew her. We will always fondly remember her as such a kind and personable neighbor, the kind of friendly, cheerful person that gives Wisconsin its deserved reputation for such wonderful people with great integrity. I will miss especially her when we float down by the dock but remember all the laughs and good cheer that she brought to us. May God bless her, Seth and you during these difficult times.

As I think back to all the different excursions we went on with friends, and all the laughter we Shared. I will never forget how perfect all our arts and crafts Were because you were such a wonderful teacher. I think you were the only one that actually had any creative skills. You were truly one of the most dedicated kind loving nurses I worked with all those years. I will miss you terribly. May you rest in peace forever

Our sadness at losing such a wonderful friend is lightened by all the memories and fun we shared these past many years. Jan brought humor, compassion and energy wherever she went. She was admired for her nursing skill and extraordinary efforts to have a beautiful home and garden. Jan so loved her dogs and worked hard at training, exercising and playing with them. Her life was about giving. Our sympathy goes out to Chad, who took such loving care of Jan during her illness, and to her two boys. May Jan be at peace.

My sincere condolences to Chad and all of Jan's family during this sad time. I have always considered her to be a good friend, wonderful Nurse and remarkable human being. So many years working with her in the E.,R. at Columbia filled me with respect for her professionalism and skills in working with people and their suffering. And always with a smile and a kind word. A terrible loss for all who encountered her. A good egg and great friend. She will be missed by many.
