Condolence & Memory Journal

My childhood was so enriched by Alice Dorn and my Aunt Helen and Grandmother Lillian Stacy who took me on three memorable camping (glamping?) trips between the ages of 9 and 12. These were to the Canadian Rockies, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Canada and to the mountains in upstate NY. Alice and Helen had wonderful friends and neighbors in the Clarence Sykes family who also lived in Cleveland Heights, Ohio at the time and several of their children also enjoyed some of those camping trips. Alice loved games and while driving the camper, singing "troop" songs she learned in her WWII days. She was a loyal companion and caregiver to my Aunt Helen through Helen's long bout with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I loved Alice very much and can still hear her laugh and feel the presence of her spirit.
