May The Lord comfort you all as your father graduates to Heaven.
He was truly a part of the greatest generation and a Clemson icon.

So sad to hear this news, but grateful that for Mike suffering has ended and he begins his new life in God's forever presence. Thanks, Anna, for letting me know. We shared many Wednesday afternoons gathered around the Scripture readings for the Sunday ahead: Methodists, Presbyterians, Catholics, UCC, etc. for Sermon Starters. He always had a rich laugh and good insights. We always prayed for one another. Thankful for that time together. May God comfort you and guard your hearts in the days ahead. The Rev. Mike, I's so sorry to see your father has left us. He made a mark on us young ones on Riggs Drive. The Tree House he built provided so many hours of fun for so many. I enjoyed listening to the conversations between your father and my dad. They both had amazing memories. Charles Kirkwood

So sorry to hear about Professor Hubbard's passing! He was a great friend of my fathers. They taught together at Clemson, went to church together, and were in the past masters club.I was his student and served as an usher with him at Clemson United Methodist Church.I always thought a lot of Mr. Hubbard and remember his sense of humor and he was always prim and proper.

Dear Hubbard Family, I got to know Dr. Mike in the early 1980's while working at Clemson as an Athletic Academic Advisor ! Over the years I had a great relationship with Mike ,as he taught a lot of my advisees, especially football players ! Mike took a special interest in all his students, especially my advisees. I will never forget Mike's willingness to help students do their very best in his classes!! The Tiger Nation has lost another legend! The Hubbard family has my deepest sympathy! Dear Mrs. Hubbard and Family:
I want all of you to know how much I cherished my long ago friendship with Mike. I met him in the seventies when we served on city council together. Among other things he was such a gentleman. He served with three women which was unusual at that time in the state. He cared so much about the city and its future. Some combination of the female contingent would often have lunch with him to talk about city issues of mutual interest. (We couldn't all meet with him at the same time or we would be violating the law by having a quorum). He was what I often refer to as "old Clemson," who made contributions to the community that many will never experience. My condolences to you in your sorrow.

John so enjoyed having him as a professor at Clemson. He used Mr. Hubbard as a reference for job applications once he finished. Little did he know, we would land in Lancaster and enjoy friendships with the rest of his family. He was a gentleman and a scholar.

Dear Hubbard family, we send our heartfelt condolences on Mike's death. We pray that God's comfort will overshadow your grief during this time and the days ahead. I enjoyed visiting with you all on Riggs Drive and briefly saw Mike on a few occasions at The Downs while visiting Aunt Bess. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please also pass our condolences to Adele. We so appreciated her coming down for both mom's and dad's funerals. God bless!

Without a doubt, Professor Hubbard helped shape my career. So many qualities come to mind. He was a true teacher as well as a mentor. Professor Hubbard made learning fun but also helped students become adults. I will forever be indebted to him. Class of 1978!

My memory of Mr. Hubbard was "he was always there" ever since I can remember (early 60's). We were part of church family for a long time: Cliff taught me swimming, Scott and I were part of a group that went down the Chattooga River with the "River Rats". My sister, Gwen, always spoke very highly of him, as well as, his family; our parents were friends and served together in many church functions through the years. Mr. Hubbard was a good and kind man and has always been a good example for me on being a good person and a Christian. He will be missed... but his influence on members in our church and outside the Church will live on forever! Thank you Mr. Hubbard, we love you and will miss you. Luke Fields

"Margaret, I am so fortunate to have renewed my acquaintance here at the Downs with Mike. One of my best Professors while a student at Clemson. He was a master at his profession. Of coarse, I too am so blessed to have met you and learn to love you as I do. You both have been true friends to me. My prayer is that God bless you and support you and your family as you go through these trying times."
