Tribute & Message From The Family

Ann Marie Roy Pompi, 70, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her home in Six Mile, SC.

Born in North Adams, MA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Edna Neal Roy. Ann was an artist, who in her later years enjoyed painting, sketching, and decorating her home in Six Mile. She loved life and was a source of comfort and support to all who knew her. She was passionate about politics, a wearer of outrageous hats, and she loved to laugh. Ann loved her family and was always happiest when they were all together. She became a grandmother for the first time ten years ago, and her grandsons, granddaughter, and great-grandchildren were lights of her life and brought her so much joy, as she did them.

Surviving are her son, Paul Pompi (Julianna) of Silver Spring, MD; daughters, Nikole Smith (David) of LaPlata, MD, and Jennifer Pompi (Nelson Gibson) of Riverdale Park, MD; brothers, Charles Roy (Sharon) of Anderson, SC and Alfred Roy (Terry) of West Springfield, MA; grandchildren, Oscar and Miles Gibson, Cameron and Archibald Pompi, and Sabrina Wilke; great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Mallory, and Brock Sultan; and the love of her life, Lynn Wilke. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Roy.

A Celebration of Ann's Life will be 10 AM, Thursday, January 11, 2018 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Planned Parenthood of Maryland, 330 N. Howard Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

Condolences may be expressed online at or at the funeral home.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Ann introduced her friend to me and now my wife for 50 years. She has left me a great gift. Good friend, free spirit and awesome person. What a loss for us all.

Dear Sweet Ann.. I will miss our discussions and debates of current events; the fact that we didn't take that wild woman road trip; and, mostly, the unconditional love and fervent loyalty you always showed. Fly high with the other Angels and try not to give God too much troublewe all know He'll be entertained by your presence. Throw us mere mortals a bone once in a while, so we know you're still watching us. Much love.
