"Stan Nicholas gave me an opportunity to be a part of Clemson University for more than 25 years when he hired me to be the only staff support person in the newly formed Research Administrative office. For that I am forever thankful! After almost 20 years of retirement I reflect on those years at Clemson and fondly remember what a gentleman Stan Nicholas was. Over these last few years we have had some pleasant phone visits, most recently in February on his birthday. Louise has always been a most gracious woman and they were truly inseparable. To Louise and the entire family, Ron and I offer our sincere condolences.

"I may be the only active faculty member who worked with Stan but retired faculty will recall him. I only knew him as a high level administrator but he had an appointment in Mechanical Engineering before I came here.
Stan was Clemson's original Director of Research. He ushered in incentive accounts, about the one significant thing a VPR has done to forward research in my 40 years here. He was intelligent, insightful and well respected.

"Stan was a excellent example of how to live your life. I loved interacting with him at Rotary. He was so full of life and was a fine example of a Rotarian. We will miss his wit at our meetings."
